Nintendo later stated at a press release that the controller could also be used as a nunchaku weapon incase of a desire emergency.

That shell is a mock up they created its not the final but yeah there is gonna be a shell. My thoughts on this. I think this is really gonna help nintendo. Think of the controller as the main way of playing and the motion sensored remote as a secondary way. The controller will be used for most games. But nintendo and most likely only nintendo will bring us stuff that will be completely new to us with the remote. So you will get a normal console with an extra kick that will make it a better seller. Also the whole GC backwards compatablilty and the ability to D/L old games should make revolution a real player. Some sites are actually considering nintendo to beat out Sony's PS3 and starting to say it will be a Revolution and 360 war. So im all for this controller because if they push it as an extra feature and not the main way to play, it will help them more then it can hurt them. Plus that 200$ price is pretty sexy
