Listen, I'm new as you all should have already figured. I've been playing SSB for an extremelly long time and have been in love with the game forever. But I've never attended any tournaments, nor have I actually played with anyone outside of my friends. I find myself to be a good player, as I'm the best out of anyone I know, but I have no knowledge of any of these techniques and terminology you people use. For example, I have no idea what a "wave dash" but I might do it alot just don't know the "name". Nor do I know what you mean when you people refer to characters in different ways and doing combos and all this unofficial trancending game information. I may be a n00b to this outside-of-my-room smash playing, but I'm not new to SSB. Can anyone help me here?

well wave dashing is this basically mid-air dodging into the ground from a VERY short jump. basically as soon as your feet leave the ground, you midair dodge toward the ground and basically slide across it. it's good for mindgames. we also have a few self-named techiniques such as "jumpf*ck" which sean uses to mess with my marth. im not sure if it was ever caught on video though. if you ever have a question, PM me and i'll help ya out

Hmm...Wavedashing. Nope...don't do that. :\ Is it of vital importance, and if so should I learn how to use it? I've seen on many forums that luigi is the best wavedasher...and he also happens to be my character. *shrugs*

it's not really important. it's just for minor mind games and showing off. although with luigi it is better than running. by "best wavedasher" they mean that he EASILY slides the farthest when you midair dodge diagonally into the ground. dont bother to learn to do it unless you just want to use feints. i do it on rare occasions.

It took me awhile to get good at Wavedashing, and now I can't imagine how I just WALKED around, Not just for show, but you have to be good at it to get good use out of it. I wish the punch crew still had thier ssbm terms list. Heres some other stuff off the top of my head. L-cancel: Press L or R as you are falling into the ground while using an air attack. This will help your character recover slightly from the lag after hitting the ground. The best way to see the results is by using link's Down_air attack and seeing him hit the ground without having to really pull his sword out of the ground. It's pretty good for competitive play. Crouch Cancel: Simply ducking when you get attacked. You won't fly as far or as high. Short Jump/Hop: Pressing the jump button lightly to do a small hop. VERY USEFUL, especially when used with L_canceled air attacks. Anyways, we welcome all smashers here. I don't think we'll ever be considered pros (and we arn't). Just look at volume 1 (Actually save yourself the time and ignore volume 1 until you've seen everything else and have nothing else better to do.)

YAY!!!!!!!!!! JUSTIN FEELS APPRICIATED! vol. 7 is now the best in my opinion, and there are like 2 or 3 more 1 on 1's for it. plus we have our anniversary match to be played (its our first ever match except one year later, and doc instead of orb)
