I know the shine is considered a spike, heh, you can ask these guys, I shine-spike often. But in cases where let's say a character uses a third jump, (I'm using really newbish terms because I don't own the game, and usually just play once a week. @_@) if my fox doesn't get right on the opponent, then I get hit with the 3rd jump. But, with a character or falco or gannon, their down spike is easier to use, in terms of slaming someone who is in the process of getting up with an attack-jump .. if that makes any sense. lol

*nods* yes, i understand. and with all respect (not trying to sound rude when I say this), the topic is which character has the advantage, fox can shine-spike falco's third jump and illusion when he is in the process of doing the actual attack, a little difficult, and falco's spike is easier, but it is still possible for both to spike.

but i still say the shine spike is harder to do because of u having to be *touching* them to do it, while with falco they can jump *into* his spike and be doomed, i 4got will plz PM this to me, what was meteor canceling again, and how do u smash outtt from a shield immediately?

Meteor smash to be exact but whocare...I call it a spike. Ok technically a meteor smash is an "official" spike that can be meteor caneled. For example, Falcon's spike is a meteor smash. Falco's isn't.
A meteor cancel is pressing L or R right after the meteor smash (official spike) hits you.

sorry Gox..
A meteor cancel is "jumping" out of the spike right after you are spiked. As soon as you are spiked wait a split second after you are spiked and use your second jump (assuming you still have it) or up-b to stop your downward motion and instantly recover.

No wonder it never worked for me then. Lol. Glad I know that. Yeah. It has more oomph if it hits deeper. The tip doesn't have as much power. This is the case for many attacks in the game.

Here's a tip for aireals (Halo gave it to me) Use the C-Stick to pull off aireals, that way u wont lose inertia if u wanna do a back hit while moving forward

If theres one thing I learned from c-sticking, its don't over use it as much, sure the occasional smash, and maybe an aerial or two but don't use it all the time...

Fox's Down aireal can spike...rather poorly though. If you hit on ONLY the first kick attack, it spikes a little. It just sucks donkeys
